Administrative Services
Administrative Services is the combination of the City Clerk, Communications, Customer Service, Human Resources, and Information and Geographic Services divisions of the City.
- The City Clerk provides a variety of services that support the City Council, City Departments, and the residents of Mercer Island, including coordinating the production of meeting materials for City Council Meetings, providing public notification, and producing meeting minutes. Other functions are to assist with requests for public records, serve as liaison to King County concerning elections and voter registration, and to help recruit members to serve on a variety of City boards and commissions.
- City Communications encompass public outreach through its website, traditional print/TV/radio outlets, social media, E-newsletters, cable TV broadcasting, advertising, mailers and other means.
- Customer Service provides a single and centralized location for Mercer Island residents, businesses, and visitors to access City services
- Human Resources responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and administering uniform human resources and payroll policies, procedures, programs and services.
- Information and Geographic Services (IGS) provides support and management of the City’s technology, operations and initiatives and Geographic Information System and related products and services.
Administrative Services also encompasses customer service initiatives, website management, risk management, and internal service delivery.
