Mercer Island Sister City Association and City of Mercer Island RECEPTION for the 2023 student exchange

The City of Mercer Island and the Mercer Island Sister City Association held a gala welcome reception for the French exchange students and chaperones from our sister city, Thonon les Bains, France.

It was held on Thursday, October 26 at the Mercer Island Community and Events Center. Light refreshments were served.

This reception welcomed the second half of a 10-day student exchange that began in February, 2022, when Mercer Island students went to Thonon les Bains, France, and stayed with a students who were matched to them. Last October the French students came to stay on Mercer Island with their student exchange counterparts. Mercer Islanders came to meet our French guests and their Mercer Island hosts, and learned about the exchange program between our two communities.
