French Films

Upcoming French films:  The next film, Fire of Love, will be screened on May 24 at 3 PM at Aljoya on Mercer Island.  (2430 76th Ave. SE)

The film, Fire of Love, is an independent documentary about the lives and careers of two French volcanologists.  Presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022, it won an editing award, and wqs also nominated for best documentary at the 95th Academy Awards.  It's been described as the "greatest lava-fueled love story ever told."

"In this world lived a fire, and in this fire, two lovers found a home."

The film will be introduced by well-known film expert and scholar, Lance Rhoades, who will also lead a post-viewing discussion.

The films are  free, but donations are welcome!
