French Films

Upcoming French films:  The next film, Le Havre, will be screened on March 14, 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Mercer Island Community Center.

The film is a comedy/drama about an African boy who arrives by cargo ship, and the aging shoe shiner who welcomes the boy into his home.  Le Havre, produced in 2011, won a 'best film' prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and won several other international film awards.

The film will be introduced by well-known film expert and scholar, Lance Rhoades, who will also lead a post-viewing discussion.

The films are  free, but donations are welcome!
