Students in the 2025 exchange to Thonon les Bains departing soon
Sixteen Mercer Island High School students are taking off for Thonon les Bains on April 11, to spend a 10-day adventure in Mercer Island's sister city.
They will be staying in the homes of French students with whom they've been matched by gender, age and interests. In addition to attending French high school for a day or two with their host students, they will visit many of the sites of the region, including the Chateau de Ripaille, the Evian Water company, and the medieval city of Yvoire. In addition, they'll visit a goat farm and learn the process of making goat cheese, and they'll have a tour of the United Nationa in Geneva, Switzerland. They'll be accompanied by three chaperones.
In October, the French students will travel to the U.S, to stay in the homes of their American counterparts, They will participate in family life on Mercer Island, experience Halloween in America, and tour many of the attractions of the Seattle area.
