The Mercer Island Sister City Association fosters a strong people-to-people relationship between Mercer Islanders and the citizens of Thonon les Bains (TOH-non-lay-BAN), France on the south shore of Lake Geneva.

The liaison between the two cities began in 2000, and since then there have been a number of exchanges that have strengthened the friendship between our citizens.

The MISCSA hosts French-related events and helps organize student, cultural and other exchanges between the two cities. The association also hosts an annual Soiree a Thonon, a festive evening of desserts, wines and cheeses to help raise funds for and awareness of association activities.
